MICROSOFT + PRODUCT DESIGN
Overview
REMOVING ARTIFICIAL BOUNDARIES

The premise for Project Gigjam was simple: remove artificial boundaries between apps on desktop and mobile devices so people can divvy up and share sensitve pieces of information no matter if they have the same apps or not. Users have the ability to hide items at anytime, in real time, without worrying about duplicates and security risks.

We knew there was a need for this kind of app from conversations with Microsoft customers. So we set out to create an easy to use app that would allow our enterprise customers to share information quickly and securely.

We started with a "Circle & Share" idea: users could use their finger to circle information on the cards (and cross out what they want hidden) and simply share the right information to other collaborators.

MY ROLE
STARTING FROM SCRATCH

The team started with only a handful of people. I was the second designer hired on for UI/UX and demos for our VP. As the team grew to 20+ UX designers, a motion design team and user research team, my role changed to Sr. Design Manager.

I was also in charge of partnering with a PM on writing scripts and overseeing the motion design team on 50+ "How-To Motion Videos" and producing a "Product Launch Video".

As the years went on, and the UX research team conducted testing, my design team and I were tasked with redesigning the entire app to make it more accessible and easier to use.
