As part of the Microsoft AI design team, the design team were not only tasked with UI/UX requirements for "Project Gigjam" but for other incubation projects that would come up. One of those projects was an AI people and object detection video surveillance system for construction sites.
This was a backend heavy project from a product standpoint. The design team was tasked with creating UI object detection box elements for the live video feeds, but also a messaging bot system supervisors could interact with when possible alerts occured.
The office of the CEO liked it so much, they decided to feature a live on-stage demo at 2017's Build Conference -- with Satya Nadella introducing it.
This was a giant undertaking for many reasons. Since there wasn't that much time, we had to outsource a marketing video to a vendor that we oversaw. The team had to provide assets to the vendor to speed up their workflow to make the deadline of the Build Conference. We also had to work with a production designer and event staff to create an on-stage set. When the balls were in motion on those, we sat down and wrote scripts for the marketing video and the on-stage demo.
